NATAL is a podcast docuseries about having a baby in the United States while being Black. Season 1 of the podcast consists of 14 episodes, giving Black parents a spotlight to tell their stories about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. The docuseries also highlights birth-workers, health researchers, medical professionals, and advocates who fight relentlessly for better care and treatment for Black pregnant and birthing parents. The first person testimonials serve to empower Black pregnant and birthing parents with information and resources and to provide a supportive community for Black parents to share the lessons they have garnered through their own unique experiences. The podcast also serves to hold healthcare systems accountable for the well-being of Black pregnant and birthing parents and to magnify the national conversation about Black perinatal care.
