Dr. Chris Eagle is a faculty member in Emory’s Center for the Study of Human Health. Most of his research is in the areas of Medical Humanities and Disability Studies, both of which he applies to modern literature very broadly defined (American, British, European, Japanese, and Australian from roughly 1860 to the present). He received his Ph.D. in English Literature from U.C. Berkeley (2009) and has been a visiting scholar at the Institute of Texts and Modern Manuscripts in Paris (2006) and the Antwerp Joyce Center (2007), the Goethe Universität in Frankfurt (2013), as well as a postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology (2010). From 2010 to 2013, he was a research lecturer in the Writing and Society Research Center at Western Sydney University in Australia.
